Become a Birthday HERO for the Alberta Children's Hospital

Now that we’re spending more time at home with our loved ones, why not celebrate your birthday virtually in a way that supports kids in our community?

Our daily routines have changed, but the needs of families who rely on the Alberta Children’s Hospital have not.

You can help by becoming a Birthday HERO. Enlist your friends and families to make a donation in lieu of gifts, then celebrate together online! You and your supporters will be making a difference in the lives of kids at the hospital — and that’s the best gift imaginable.

We want to help you celebrate with a Birthday HERO lawn sign! Our volunteers will drop one off at your house. This is a really great way to let others know about your efforts, and maybe inspire them to become a Birthday HERO, too!

How to become a Birthday HERO

Step 1: Create your own Birthday HERO webpage. Tell your friends and family why you've chosen to support kids at the Alberta Children's Hospital and ask them to join you with a birthday donation in lieu of a gift.

Please note: We have implemented a small, $5 fee to set-up your Birthday HERO page. This is a security measure to protect the privacy of our donors and fundraisers. This fee will be applied to your overall fundraising goal, and is tax deductible. It is an easy way to kickstart your fundraising campaign, and your fee will be applied at the end of the registration process.

Step 2: Send an email to your friends and family. Be sure to include a link to your personal page so people can access it, along with any other important details for your big day.

Step 3: Have a fabulous birthday and gather with your family, friends and supporters online! You've done something very special — it’s time to have fun!

Step 4: Thank your supporters! Send a personal message to everyone who stepped up to support your efforts.
