Woodmark is made up of 26 of the most prominent children’s hospitals in Canada and the United States and is dedicated to shaping the future of pediatric healthcare.

The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Children’s Circle of Care is an exclusive Woodmark program which honours leading philanthropists from across North America.

The Children’s Circle of Care was founded on the philosophy that we are infinitely stronger together than as individuals. The Circle’s mission is to advance philanthropy that supports patient care, teaching, research and advocacy through educating and recognizing leading benefactors of participating children’s hospitals.

Support from our Circle Members plays a critical role in making the Alberta Children’s Hospital national leaders in child healthcare. Our members have the unique opportunity to be part of an ever-growing network of philanthropists who, through their generous annual support, are transforming the face of pediatric health care. How to join the Children's Circle of Care

Children’s Circle of Care recognizes individuals and couples who support their children’s hospital with annual gifts of $10,000 or more.*

The same donor, within one calendar year, may reach this giving level through accumulated gifts.

Contributions may be made personally or directed through a family foundation or private corporation.

Gifts may be made in cash or appreciated assets readily converted to cash. Matching gifts are ineligible.

* Contributions made at or through events will be recognized at the total amount after deducting the value of goods and services received.

Family-centred Programs
Through donor-funded initiatives like the Therapeutic Arts Program, our Child Life, Music and Art Therapists work hard to ensure kids’ spirits remain strong, as they heal. With therapeutic play and innovative programs, patients and their families at the Alberta Children’s Hospital receive the hope, help and healing they need when they need it most.

Ground-breaking Research
Our clinician-scientists have helped our hospital become the first in Canada to provide an experimental and potentially life-saving form of therapy to improve liver function in babies suffering from a rare, incurable disorder. Our specialists are providing liver cell transplants to infants suffering from Urea Cycle Disorders and buying them precious time until a matching liver can be found and transplanted.

Life-saving Equipment
Our Pediatric Intensive Care team is now offering enhanced care that is giving our sickest children a chance at life – Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS). ECLS uses heart-lung bypass technology to keep children with little or no heart or lung function alive until their vital organs have the chance to recover.
