Life-Saving EquipmentYou can give new hope to children with injury and illness of the brain.
TMS is being used in several centres across the country to help treat adults with a number of neurological conditions. It has proven to be safe for children and holds potential to help with many conditions, including:
TMS uses non-invasive state-of-the-art technology to map brain activity. Our specialists believe that the same electrical currents used to map the brain may also be used to stimulate it, reawakening and re-routing damaged brain pathways. “For years, parents of children who have suffered a brain injury such as stroke have been told to expect very little in terms of recovery,” explains pediatric neurologist Dr. Adam Kirton. “Preliminary studies are giving us every indication that with TMS we are on the cusp of giving these families a potential new treatment and it’s very exciting. The possibilities are endless.” |
