Gift in Kind page banner

Thank you for your generosity in donating new toys, books and other gifts to the children at the Alberta Children's Hospital. These donations are special gifts that make kids feel more at home and help brighten their spirits during their stay in hospital.

These donations, called Gifts in Kind, are used throughout the year as distractions and rewards during procedures and tests; as special gifts to celebrate birthdays, holidays and other milestones; prizes for bingo nights; and to provide entertainment in playrooms. Book donations also help to supplement the Family and Community Resource Centre library collection and inpatient book cart program.

We are only able to accept NEW unwrapped items due to the hospital's infection control guidelines. Due to our patients' fragile immune systems, we are unable to accept gently used or previously owned items.

We appreciate your generosity but for the safety and privacy of the patients, please understand that donors are not permitted to hand out gifts personally to the patients.

Art

The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation supports the Alberta Children's Hospital Art Advisory Committee at the hospital. As a panel of art specialists, this committee meets bi-monthly to review all artwork donation submissions. This committee is solely responsible for deciding where art will be placed within the hospital.

Each work will be chosen on its own merit.
