Become a philanthropy ambassador
Last year alone, kids and teens in our community raised over $600,000 in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital as part of our youth philanthropy program, Kids Helping Kids. In conjunction with this program, the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation provides a unique way to get involved with the Foundation through our very own Youth Council.
The Youth Council brings together teens (ages 14+) from Southern Alberta who want to contribute to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in an interactive and meaningful way. The Youth Council will act as youth philanthropy ambassadors while working closely with the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. The Youth Council will organize and run one annual fundraising event that will support the new Child & Adolescent Mental Health Centre. The Youth Council will learn organizational and event-planning skills and will be able to directly impact the lives of the 102,000 children and families who rely on the Alberta Children’s Hospital each year.
Why get involved?
Youth Council members will be provided with the opportunity to benefit from mentorship from Foundation staff in this program. You will learn how to be ambassadors of the Alberta Children’s Hospital and, with our assistance, give presentations to your school and community to encourage others to get involved! The Youth Council will also meet regularly to plan one fundraising event in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. The Youth Council will have the opportunity to designate their funds to an area within the Alberta Children’s Hospital or to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute.
