Youth Council

The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation provides an amazing way for young people aged 14 and up to get involved through their very own Youth Council.

Youth Council Group

Youth Council members act as philanthropic ambassadors while working closely under the guidance of the Foundation to support the hospital in a variety of ways, including advocacy work, fundraising initiatives, and organizing a discussion panel with experts. Members learn valuable leadership skills and have an opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of so many children who rely on care from experts at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

The official term and monthly meetings will happen between September 2023 to February 2024, with a commitment to stay engaged with the Council until June 2024.

Thank you for your interest in the Youth Council. Applications for the 2023-24 year are now closed. Please visit this page in June 2024 for your chance to join this amazing crew in 2024-25!

Why Get Involved?

The Youth Council provides a structured environment for like-minded youth to connect and learn new skills while making a difference in the community.

Every year, the Youth Council supports a specific area of care. Over the past 10 years, its members have raised more than $130,000 in support of life-saving care, brain health and mental health.

What You Will Support

The 2023/2024 Youth Council will work together at the start of the term to identify their cause of choice, which will help support the 100,000 kids and families who rely on the Alberta Children’s Hospital each year. The Youth Council will play a vital role in educating their peers and networks on their cause of choice and play an active role in fundraising activities and events that support the goals of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
