The OCD Challengers
Please join my team, The OCD Challengers, to raise funds to support the OCD Clinic at the Alberta Children's Hospital.
How? Sign up to be part of The OCD Challengers (as a walker, runner or observer) or simply make a donation
Where? Heritage Park, Calgary, Alberta
When? September 22, 2019
All money raised goes directly to treatment for children suffering from OCD
Why support OCD?
- Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a disorder of the brain and behavior that often begins in childhood and causes so much anxiety that it gets in the way of school, family and friendships
- OCD is one of the 4th most debilitating mental health issues affecting Canadians
- OCD affects 1-2 % of Canadians
- It takes an average of 14 - 17 years from the time OCD begins for people to obtain proper treatment
The good news is that OCD is treatable and early treatment is critical- with your generous gift we can help children learn the needed skills to fight and win against OCD and retrain their brain so that they will have the necessary tools needed to fight OCD.
Last year, we raised almost $21,000 (due to the help of an anonymous donor that matched up to 10K). This year we are on our own - lets see how much we can raise to help kids suffering with OCD.
The Alberta Children's Hospital OCD Clinic used last year's raised funds to develop a secure electronic platform to collect needed information from parents, children and clinicians to follow and improve the care given to children and their families suffering with OCD.
Come and support the OCD Clinic and the Alberta Children's Hospital once again. Our team The OCD Challengers will be at Heritage Park on Sunday, September 22, 2019 to take part in the RBC Race for the Kids at Heritage Park.
Thank you in advance for your generous gift.
We will keep you updated on our progress, and if you're encouraged by our efforts, please register and join The OCD Challengers and help children with OCD beat their OCD bully!
