The 3rd Annual Super Hero Ride for Kelly is fast approaching and will be taking place on Saturday, June.22nd/2019. Last year we raised over $1500 in cash donations, as well as toys, books, personal care items, gift cards and 2 motorized Batmobile cars & 2 kayaks which were auctioned off by the children's hospital thanks to many generous individuals.
Kelly was born with a rare disorder called Aicardi Syndrome which caused a severe disability and many health issues. Kelly passed away June.8th/2015 while in the ICU at the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary at the age of 17 years. We have organized this ride in honour of our beautiful baby girl Kelly and to do our part to give back to a hospital that took care of us during the hardest time in our lives.
This year, our goal is to raise over $2000 in cash donations as well as donate even more gift in kind items that the Alberta Children's Hospital relies on, while at the same time keeping the memory of our superhero Kelly alive. Everyone that knew Kelly loved her and knows how hard she fought in life. The Children's hospital was a familiar place to Kelly and our family, we want to make a difference for children and families in similar situations that we faced.
Even a small donation will go a long way and we hope you will consider donating.100% of the money you donate through this link goes to the Children's Hospital - no service or administration fees are charged. You can also contact Chris at 403-892-3882 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to have a donation picked up. If you are unable to give at this time, but would still like to support our super hero ride please share this letter and/or the donation link. You can find more info on our Facebook page @bikersbuildingbridgeslethbridge, please share our posts!
We would also love for you to join us during the ride on June.22nd. We will be starting from the West Lethbridge Safeway parking lot at 10am on June.22nd and will be joined by additional riders at the Aldersyde truck stop, with our final destination being the Alberta Children's Hospital.
Check our Facebook page for location updates on the day of the ride! Please feel free to join us on the ride(cars and trucks welcome too, super hero costumes/decorations encouraged) or to meet us at the hospital for our drop off of donations.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and for being a part of keeping Kelly's memory and spirit alive.
