Where will Candy Cane be held in 2023?

Candy Cane Gala will be held on December 1, 2023 in Halls E&F in the BMO Centre on Stampede Park.

Parking is available for a fee on the Stampede Grounds. Please note that there is currently construction at and around the BMO Centre; visit calgarystampede.com for the latest updates to available lots.

Can I buy individual tickets (not a whole table)?

Tickets are only available in groups (tables) of 10. You are welcome to add up to two additional seats for your table when you complete your purchase.

If you would like to share the purchase of a table with another family please or need additional seats for your table after purchase, contact us at events@achf.com or call 403.955.8893 and we’ll be happy to help!

What time will the doors open?

Sponsors, Circle of Care and Spirit of Giving guests will have early access beginning at 5:00 pm.

Our Festive Family & Friends guests will be welcomed into Hall E at 5:30 pm. Activities and treats for grown-ups and kids alike will be yours to enjoy!

Do I need to bring a ticket with me?

Tickets are not required. When you arrive, please check in with our event ambassadors outside of Halls E&F where we’ll be happy to help direct you or answer any questions you might have.

Are there highchairs or booster seats available for my little one?

Yes, we are happy to provide highchairs and boosters. In October, we’ll be collecting this information so we can be sure to have everything ready when you arrive on December 1.

Will I get a tax receipt?

Portions of both Circle of Care and the Spirit of Giving tables are eligible for charitable tax receipts, as are donations to Candy Cane Gala, which will be issued from the Foundation office and mailed to you via Canada Post.

Festive Friends & Family tables, raffle tickets and silent auction purchases are not eligible for tax receipts.

What can I expect at Candy Cane Gala?

You’ll be welcomed by our staff and volunteers at registration and then you’ll set off to enjoy all that Candy Cane Gala has to offer!

Our magical KidZone is for everyone to explore and includes face painting, balloon animals, games, crafts, animal friends, pre-dinner snacks and fun galore! The silent auction items will be on display and ready for bidding, raffle tickets will be on sale, cash bars will be open, family photo stations will be ready to capture your memories and everyone will have a chance to enjoy each other’s company!

Shortly before 7:00 pm, everyone will gather in the dining room for a short, inspiring program followed by dinner service. We ask that everyone please remain at their tables to ensure safe and efficient dinner service for all our guests.

Following dinner, you can continue to bid on the auction, enjoy the KidZone and dance the night away on the family-friendly dance floor!

Will there be options for those with dietary restrictions?

Yes. The BMO Centre is a nut-friendly facility, and no food items served at Candy Cane Gala contain nuts. We will request specific guest information in October in order that other accommodations, including vegan/vegetarian meals, can be made in advance.

What should we wear?

Candy Cane Gala is a black-tie event, so now is your chance to dress up in your favourite seasonal finery and join us in our enchanted garden!

How can I buy a raffle ticket?

Raffle tickets are available online until November 24 and will be available for purchase in person at the event on December 1.

How can I participate in the auction or make a donation?

The Candy Cane Gala auction site will open online at 6:00 pm on November 19, 2023. The auction is open to everyone so feel free to invite family, friends, and colleagues who may not be attending Candy Cane Gala to get in on the friendly competition – and support the kids at the hospital!

Donations are gratefully received on the same site, or you can visit our donation page anytime.

Please note that auction items will be distributed to winning bidders if they are in attendance at Candy Cane Gala. Otherwise, they will be available for pick up at the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation office (located on the second floor of the hospital) the week of December 4.
