Country 105 Caring for Kids Radiothon raises $2.95 million!
Million-dollar donation bolsters community generosity
Supporters of the 18th annual Country 105 Caring For Kids Radiothon stepped up with incredible generosity to help children and families at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. That generosity was then topped up by a Million-Dollar Match from Tom Crist, making this the third year in a row he and the Crist Family Foundation provided a seven-figure incentive for donations!
Minutes before wrapping up on Friday night, the team from Country 105 along with country star, Paul Brandt announced that Radiothon supporters had donated an astounding $1.95 million! With the million-dollar match, this year’s event has so far raised $2.95 million for the Alberta Children’s Hospital, bringing the overall Radiothon total to more than $38 million since 2003!
“This year in particular, the Country 105 Caring for Kids Radiothon was a special opportunity to reflect on our resiliency and celebrate how we look after each other—especially our kids,” says Saifa Koonar, President & CEO of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. “In this everchanging world, one thing remains the same: the Alberta Children’s Hospital continues to be a bright spot for families—thanks in large part to our amazing community.”
Over three days, dozens of grateful families lined up virtually to share how much they appreciate the care they’ve received from the Alberta Children’s Hospital and highlighted in very real terms how donations help save and change lives at the hospital every day..
“This community was more than ready for an inspiring event like the Caring for Kids Radiothon,” says Greg Johnson, Program Manager, Country 105 FM. “And by stepping up and donating to the Alberta Children’s Hospital so generously, our listeners demonstrated that even and especially in challenging times, sick and injured kids need and deserve our help. We’re very proud to be part of such an important and meaningful event.”
The official phone bank sponsor of this year’s event for the eleventh year in a row was Brookfield Residential.
