Joggin for a Noggin
Joggin' for a Noggin is a Halloween-themed fun run that has raised money to send neurosurgery kids to camp.
The support from our sponsor HMC lawyers and the Calgary community has been overwhelming and this fundraiser has been tremendously successful over the last five years. Unfortunately this year, the run will not be able to go forward but we look forward to hosting this event in future years.
We would still like of offer you the opportunity to support the Neurosurgery program at the Alberta Children's Hospital if you are able. The money raised this year will go to support the neurosurgery program by contributing to the purchase of a laser. The addition of LITT technology has allowed neurosurgery to treat seizures in a minimally invasive way by placing a laser probe into a deep target within the brain through a millimeter-sized incision. The probe then heats up and destroys the tissue responsible for causing the seizures. In the past, children required a much more invasive and frightening procedure to achieve the same results. Length of hospital stay and complication rates will be reduced substantially by using LITT technology.
Thank you for choosing to help our neurosurgery patients and families.
