Life-Saving and Life-Changing Ventilators

Bonnie was born with a rare condition affecting her lungs and other organs. She’s one of hundreds of babies who have relied on a ventilator at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Thanks to community support, this technology has recently been upgraded. READ MORE
Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team

Payton and her family were in Lethbridge when a rare infection stopped her ability to breathe. Doctors knew she needed specialized care so they called in the Pediatric Critical Care Transport team from the Alberta Children’s Hospital to airlift her to Calgary. READ MORE
Precision Prescriptions

In the first year of recruitment, 37 participants were enrolled in the PGx-STaR study, including children, teens and young adults from Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan. Eight-year-old Adeline Hunter, from Calgary, recently completed the study. READ MORE
Hospital at Home

Thanks to the donor-funded Hospital at Home program, Jaylee is able to receive much of her cancer treatment surrounded by her favourite comforts — her family, home-cooked meals and cuddles from her dog, Piper. READ MORE

Rotary Flames House

When their kids were diagnosed with the same neurodegenerative disease, Jessica and Kyle were understandably devastated. Thankfully Rotary Flames House has been a saving grace for their family and a place where their children can live their fullest lives possible surrounded by joy and love. READ MORE
Brain Computer Interface (BCI)

Hennessy is only five years old, but he’s already showing the world what he’s capable of through the power of BCI. Thanks to BCI, Hennessy can paint, drive a robotic car and start his favourite videos all using the power of his mind. READ MORE
The Summit

KidSONO: Finding Answers Faster

Thanks to your generous support, specialists at the Alberta Children’s Hospital are using point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) to inform care in real time, helping them make faster diagnoses with increased accuracy so children can begin treatments sooner. READ MORE
