Introducing the Legacy Challenge

With a gift in your Will, you can help shape the future of healthcare for children.

Right now, there is an unprecedented opportunity for those leaving a gift in their Will to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. Through the Legacy Challenge, these future gifts will improve outcomes for the kids and families of tomorrow and at the same time, will also have a direct, meaningful impact today.

Through the Legacy Challenge, 25% of each Bequest notification will be matched, up to $250,000 per gift. The matched dollars will be directed to a current funding area of your choice so you can:

1. See your gift at work during your lifetime and
2. Know your future commitment will have a positive impact for generations to come.

For example…

A donor shares that they have included a $10,000 gift in their Will to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. After receiving notification of this future gift, $2,500 (25% of $10,000) is earmarked for the donor to immediately direct to a current fundraising priority of their choice. And then, upon the donor’s passing, their legacy gift of $10,000 will be received by the Foundation as per their wishes in their Will.

While the donor will not receive a charitable tax receipt for this matching $2,500, they will get to select and learn about a current priority area to invest in that is meaningful to them. They will also receive ongoing impact news of their matching funds.
