Old fashioned house calls made good sense. While the Alberta Children’s Hospital was purpose built for kids and teens, we know that young patients would much rather get better surrounded by the comforts of home.

The Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute at the University of Calgary is home to more than 1,000 investigators, students and staff looking for answers to the most pressing health challenges facing kids and families today. Beyond medical and education specialists, this diverse group of researchers includes experts in bioengineering, mathematics, data science, and much more.
Recognizing that families urgently need answers, UCalgary has declared Child Health and Wellness as an institutional priority – becoming the first university in Canada to put children at the centre of its research. Your support will help these brilliant investigators generate new knowledge crucial to understanding, predicting, treating and preventing illness throughout the lifespan.

Thanks to generous people like you, Calgary is home to one of the most state-of-the-art child health care and research facilities in North America. With that same support, we’ve built the only pediatric hospice in Alberta and will soon be opening our city’s first community-based Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
